As a student you are entitled to apply to have credits transferred for previous courses and study programmes. This applies to both Swedish and foreign courses and study programmes. You must be admitted to and pursue studies at the University of Gothenburg for the credit transfer to be assessed.
Courses from other Swedish higher education institutions may be included in a general qualification without any special credit transfer.
A special assessment must be carried out if you would like to have credit transferred for professional or vocational experience or courses outside the higher education system ('prior learning'). What is assessed is whether the knowledge can be deemed to correspond to current higher education.
There are different variants of credit transfer. What kind of credit transfer you will make, determine where to turn your application.
Rules governing credit transfer can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance.

A rejection regarding credit transfer can be appealed.
