Internships

As part of the elective course PDA685 Qualified internship in the domain of IT and learning, you have the opportunity to get credit for an internship in a company, organisation or research group. Depending on your interests and goals, this can be an excellent opportunity to try out out a new area and gain some work experience.

While programme staff do, from time to time, share announcements from organisations looking for interns, the programme DOES NOT find internships for students. Instead, students are expected to find their own internships through postings and contacts.

To be eligible for credits in the programme, an internship must be at least the equivalent of eight full-time weeks of work in length. It must also include duties that are related to the theme of IT and learning.

While you may complete an internship at any time during the programme, the course PDA685 runs during the fall term each year and students usually take it during their third term in the programme. To pass the course, you must lead a literature seminar, present your internship experiences and write a report about them. All of these elements can be done after you have completed an internship or while you are completing one. They can also be completed at a distance if your internship is not in Gothenburg.
