The department is joint between the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology. This means that our teachers, researchers and doctoral students teach and conduct research at both universities. As a student, you have a wider range of courses to choose from and you can use facilities, such as libraries and student premises, at both universities.

We offer a master's programme and several freestanding courses in English. Our teachers also teach and hold courses at other departments at the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology.

Access to e-resources for University of Gothenburg students at Mathematical Sciences

The libraries at the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers provide e-resources for students, for access to e-books, databases, scientific articles, etc. You who are a University of Gothenburg student need to contact the student office to get access to special e-resources at the department: mvexp.math@chalmers.se

The Student Group for Mathematics

SG Matte is a part of the Science Section of the student union Göta studentkår and represents the students that study courses and programmes at the Department of Mathematical Sciences. They work to spread good vibes at the department and to make all students feel comfortable. There you will find mathematics students in different classes who you can ask for help, about course literature or similar issues.
