Information about student healthcare at the University of Gothenburg.
If you are a student and you are experiencing health issues caused by your studies, you can receive support from the University's provider of student health services, for example through counselling sessions. Feelgood Göteborg City is the University's provider of student health services and you should contact them if you are in need of student healthcare.
If you are having difficulties determining whether your health issues are caused by your studies, you can always turn to Feelgood as a first point of contact. In this case, you need to be prepared that you may be referred elsewhere if Feelgood’s assessment is that the health issues you are seeking support for are not caused by your studies. Feelgood may also offer you certain forms of support but refer you elsewhere for further support.
At Feelgood Göteborg City you have access to individual counselling sessions and to different kinds of group activities. The services are based on your individual needs and are decided upon in joint consultation with Feelgood. If you are offered individual counselling sessions, you will have access to three (3) sessions. Group activities primarily consist of workshops and lectures about student health.
If you are in need of additional sessions, Feelgood will contact the University of Gothenburg to approve them. Whether you will be offered additional sessions is decided on a case by case basis.
In addition to counselling sessions in person, it is also possible to have sessions online, through an app, or using a mobile phone or tablet. For a virtual session, you will need to download the Feelgood app, available for Android and iOS.
Generally speaking, Feelgood offers support for health issues relating to your studies, and if something is not related to your studies, you should contact the general health services.

Disciplinary cases can be stressful and lead to ill health. If you as a student are involved in a case with the Disciplinary Board, you can contact the student healthcare services for support.
You can contact Feelgood using their web form. Please note however that if you are an international student, you cannot schedule an appointment via the web form, as a Swedish social security number is required. You are also welcome to contact Feelgood via phone or email.
Before using the web form for the first time, you have to set up your account via the button Set up your account.

The provider of student health services has access to the following personal data from Ladok: name, personal identification number, faculty, department, programe and/or freestanding course. This is so that the Univerisity of Gothenburg will have access to reports to be able to take the relevant active measures with regards to health, and to be able to see how the Universit's students are making use of different kinds of resources.

All visits and contact with the provider of student health services are recorded. According to law, the provider is responsible for patient records and all patient records must be archived for a minimum of 10 years.
As a student you have the right to access your patient records. To do this, contact the current provider of student health services. If you would like to request records for visits made to Feelgood, you will then contact Feelgood directly by e-mail at student.goteborg@feelgood.se or by phone at 010-810 81 92.

The Medical Information Service, phone: +46 1177, is a 24-hour provider of free healthcare information and consulting. There are local medical care centres (Vårdcentral) all over Gothenburg.

112 is the emergency number for ambulance, police and rescue, and fire brigade. You will be asked to explain what has happened and to state your location. There is an emergency room at Sahlgrenska University Hospital.
Non-prescription medicines, such as aspirin and cough syrup, are sold at pharmacies and at some supermarkets, grocery stores and petrol stations. A doctor’s prescription is required for stronger medications such as antibiotics. These medicines can only be obtained from a pharmacy (apotek).
All medical districts have a dental clinic (Folktandvården), usually located in the same area as the medical care centre (Vårdcentral). There is also a wide range of private dentists. Dental care costs are partially subsidised if you are registered in the Swedish social insurance system.
