The nomination for the IT Faculty Pedagogical Prize 2024 is open

Staff and students at the IT Faculty are invited to nominate teachers and/or team of teachers for the IT Faculty Pedagogical Prize, which is intended to reward pedagogical efforts in the first, second and third cycle within the IT Faculty domain.

Who can be nominated?

The prize is intended for all teachers who are teaching within the IT Faculty disciplinary domain, i.e. in courses and programmes, which include teachers who are employed outside the IT Faculty but are teaching within the IT Faculty and its' departments.

Criteria and guidelines for the assessment of nominations

Nominees must respond to at least one of the following criteria:

  1. The nominees have developed, and in teaching successfully completed, an innovative pedagogical idea.
  2. The nominees must for several years have performed an extraordinary and successful teacher deed.

The prize is distributed as a grant of 100 000 SEK, regardless of how many teachers that will share the prize. The money shall be used for the prize winners’ pedagogical improvement and development.

How to nominate:

If the nomination is based on criteria 1:

  • Describe the innovative pedagogical idea
  • Describe in which programme and/or in which course the pedagogical idea has been implemented, and how the idea has become successful/extraordinary, i.e. by course evaluations and/or support letter from students

If the nomination is based on criteria 2:

  • Describe the teacher deed
  • Describe which time period the teacher deed refers to and which programme and/or course that relates to the teacher deed, and in what way the teacher deed can be considered successful/extraordinary, i.e. by course evaluations and/or support letters from students

In addition to the above:

  • What are the effects of the pedagogical idea (criteria 1) or the teacher deed (criteria 2), i.e. fewer dropouts, improved grades, or other positive effects related to the education.
  • Support for the nomination, i.e. names of the teachers/students who support the nomination.

Students nominate their candidates through the IT Section of Göta Student Union. Deadline 12 February 2024.
