Erasmus Traineeship

The Erasmus programme gives you, as a student at the University of Gothenburg, the opportunity to apply for a grant doing a traineeship in Europe (outside of Sweden). You can do a traineeship in companies, organizations and research and training centres.

You do not need to apply for a traineeship within your subject area, but the traineeship should be relevant to your education. Your department certifies the relevance of the traineeship.  Your student financial aid is not affected by the scholarship.

Important dates

Applications for the Erasmus traineeship grant are processed on a rolling basis. As a general rule, you should submit your application at least 60 days before your traineeship starts.
All documents must be signed before departure.

  • During the Christmas holiday period, staffing may be limited both at your traineeship host organisation and in the departments responsible for processing your application.
  • No grant applications are processed in July. If your traineeship starts in early autumn, for example on 1 September, we therefore recommend submitting your complete application by 31 May.

You cannot apply for the grant after your traineeship has started. Make sure to apply well in advance.
