Renovation of Annedalsseminariet is taking longer than expected

Published

The renovation of the first stage of Annedalsseminariet has proven to be more extensive than initially assumed by the landlord. This means that some work will need to be done during the fall semester.

Not least, windows have had to be removed for renovation. In the meantime, they are being replaced with wooden boards, which means draughts and no light in the rooms concerned. The work is expected to continue until mid-October. Indoor painting will take place on certain weekends. There will be clear signage indicating where painting is taking place. The paint is linseed oil-based, and there are no known health risks associated with it, but there may be a lingering odor.

The café operator has decided that it will not be possible to operate the café during the work, and it will therefore be closed until the end of October. Guests are referred to Kafé Kastanjen in Psykologen. The faculty has looked into the possibility of temporarily installing a coffee machine at Annedalsseminariet. However, the Conference services has announced that this would be too costly. The student union has therefore said that they will be at Annedalsseminariet more often and hold coffee days with their associations, where they will offer coffee.
