Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for an Adlerbert Scholarship, you must:

  • have completed at least 30 credits at the University of Gothenburg. The credits must be registered in Ladok
  • be registered for at least 30 credits at first or second level at the University of Gothenburg during the scholarship year, 1 July 2026–30 June 2027.

You can receive a maximum of two Adlerbert Scholarships during your undergraduate and graduate studies.

Adlerbert Scholarships you can apply for

You can apply for a scholarship of SEK 15,000 for either travel related to your studies or living expenses. You can only apply for one of the two types of scholarship and cannot change your application after the application deadline.

  • Scholarship for travel related to your studies: You can apply for an upcoming trip or for a trip you have already completed. The trip must not have started before 1 January 2026 and must be completed before the start of the autumn semester 2027.
  • Scholarship for living expenses: If you are not planning to travel as part of your studies, you can apply for an Adlerbert Scholarship for living expenses.

Selection process

Travel abroad related to your studies is given first priority, followed by travel within Sweden. If funds remain after the travel scholarships have been awarded, they are used for scholarships for living expenses.

Ranking

Applications are ranked according to the number of credits registered in Ladok at the University of Gothenburg. Only credits registered in Ladok by the application deadline are included. If several applicants have the same number of credits, their ranking is decided by drawing lots.

Application

Application period: You can apply from 24 August to 14 September 2026.

How to apply: Apply through the University's scholarship application system. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

What you need to include in your application depends on the type of scholarship you are applying for:

  • Scholarship for travel related to your studies: State your destination and travel dates and briefly explain the purpose of the trip and how it is relevant to your studies. If you have already completed the trip, provide a breakdown of the costs. If you have not yet travelled, provide an estimate of the costs. Scholarships are not awarded for trips where Gothenburg is the destination or where the destination is less than 50 kilometres from Gothenburg.
  • Scholarship for living expenses: The scholarship is a contribution towards your living expenses while studying at the University of Gothenburg during the scholarship year, 1 July 2026–30 June 2027. You do not need to provide a motivation for your application.
