Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden) is one of the largest universities of technology in Germany and is located in the city of Dresden, two hours south from Berlin. The university has a student population of 30 000 where about one-fifth come from abroad. TU Dresden covers a broad range of subjects across its 17 faculties and five schools, including business, computer science, chemistry, biology, and international relations.
The university has several campus buildings, with the main campus is located just south of the city centre of Dresden.
As an exchange student, you have the opportunity to take part in TU Dresden's two-week Culture and Language Learning programme prior to the start of term. The programme includes expanding your knowledge of German, excursion to the surrounding area, as well as cultural events.

TU Dresden offers a range of courses for exchange students. The exchange agreement between GU and TU Dresden is brand new for the academic year 2025-26 and will therefore be limited to the following subject areas:

Germany is part of the Erasmus+ programme – which means that you can receive an Erasmus+grant if you do an exchange period at TUD.

Winter semester (fall term): October to March (teaching takes place mid-October to early February)
Summer semester (spring term): April to September (teaching takes place early April to mid-July)
Language Requirements
English at B1 level if you study courses in English. German at B1 level should you wish to study courses in German. When you submit your application you can simultaneously complete an OLS (online language assessment) through Erasmus+.

You can apply for housing (room in a student hall) at the Studentenwerk Dresden as soon as you have received a letter of admission from TUD.
