GU-wide exchange spots
The University of Gothenburg has a joint interdisciplinary agreement in Slovenia and Romania through the EUTOPIA network. Most of the university's students can apply for an exchange place there, but the possibility to go on GU-wide agreements differs between the different faculties. You need to check with your faculty, and that the universities offers courses in your study field.
University of Ljubljana is the oldest and largest higher education institution in Slovenia., founded in 1919. It is located in the capital city of Ljubljana, which has been named the greenest capital in Europe. The university consists of approximately 40,000 students and 6,000 employees in 23 faculties and three arts academies. Most of the university’s buildings are located right in the city centre, while some of the most recent and modern buildings were constructed on the outskirts of Ljubljana
University of Ljubljana offers a wide range of courses for exchange students. Please note the exchange agreement is limited to the following subject areas:

Computer Science (strong focus on advanced technical aspects and pure programming)
Economics
Global Studies
International Relations
Law
Social Work
Sociology
Before applying, please check the course offerings - and course language - carefully.
You will be nominated to one faculty and it is sometimes possible to choose courses from one other faculty. It is important therefore important that you note which subjects you wish to study when completing the application for exchange.
Erasmus+ grant
Slovenia is part of the Erasmusprogramme – which means that you can receive an Erasmus+grant if you do an exchange period at University of Ljubljana. Read more about Erasmus+ here.

Language Requirements
English at B2 level if you study courses in English. When you submit your application you can simultaneously complete an OLS (online language assessment) through Erasmus+.
Housing
The University of Ljubljana does not provide student accommodation, but there is still a variety of accommodations available across the city. A very limited number of beds in student dormitories are available for exchange students. More information about Off Campus Housing can be found here.
Insurance
Exchange students are insured through Kammarkollegiets Insurance StudentUT.
Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB) is located in the city of Cluj-Napoca, which is the largest city in Transylvania in western Romania. It is a proper student city with lots of activities, with a student population of 100 000 in comparison with its 500 000 inhabitants.

UBB is the largest and oldest university establishment in Romania and was founded in 1581. It is the only Romanian university ranked in the Shanghai World University Rankings 2022. There is a large student population at UBB with approximately 55 000 students at all levels. It is an international university and one of the most popular destinations in Europe for Erasmus+ exchange students.
We recommend that you choose seven courses that you can consider taking in your course selection (you will study five courses). You will be nominated to one faculty and it is possible to study no more than two courses from one other faculty. Please note that there is a limited amount of courses offered in English.
Important information:
There are no courses offered in the artistic subject areas (except theatre and film at Masters level, see below).
Faculty of Theatre and Film - courses are available in English at Masters level
Faculty of Geography - courses taught in English are only available as "tutorials"
Faculty of Chemistry - welcomes students from all levels however courses taught in English are only at Masters level
Faculty of Biology and Geology - courses are available in English at Masters level
Faculty of Environmental Science and Engineering -
Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences - Faculty of Pscyhology and Education Sciences – courses in education sciences are not taught in English.
Faculty of Sociology and Social Work - not open for exchange students
Erasmus+ grant
Romania is part of the Erasmus+ programme – which means that you can receive an Erasmus+grant if you do an exchange period at UBB.
Exchange students from GU are insured via Kammarkollegiets "Student OUT".
Universidade NOVA de Lisboa was founded in 1973 and is the youngest of the universities in Lisbon. The university has a student population of just over 20 000. NOVA covers a broad range of subjects across its nine faculties. The university is decentralised where its faculties and schools enjoy a great deal of autonomy. The schools therefore have their own campus buildings located across Lisbon and across the bridge, known as “Ponte 25 de Abril”, in Almada.

Please note: Students nominated for a spot at NOVA will be allocated towards one School; it will therefore not be possible to choose courses across different Schools.
