Apply for a field study scholarship for your thesis!

Did you know that you can collect material for your thesis and degree project in countries such as Nepal, Botswana, or Costa Rica? The scholarship program Minor Field Studies (MFS) gives you the opportunity to carry out a field study during six weeks in countries where Sweden is engaged in development work. Apply between 15 September and 15 October 2026 to conduct your fieldwork next spring.

Minor Field Studies is a scholarship program that is financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). Through the program, you can receive a travel grant of 25,000 SEK to carry out field studies in a low- or middle-income country in order to collect material for your thesis or degree project. The fieldwork must take place in one of Sida’s designated partner countries.
