Get involved as a student representative

Published

As a student representative, you bring an important perspective.

Students have the right to participate in all preparatory and decision-making bodies and in education-related decisions, and it is the student unions at the University that appoint student representatives.

In addition to getting involved as a student representative at your department or faculty, there are a number of assignments to apply for at the University-wide level. These assignments are compiled in a nomination request sent to the student unions on 15 March each year, where the student unions are invited to appoint student representatives to University-wide bodies, working groups and projects of importance to education or the situation of students. In many cases, compensation is also paid for student participation.

Information about student representative positions and how to apply can be found on the website of the University of Gothenburg Student Union (GUS), in Swedish.
