Prize for a Thesis in Critical Cultural Heritage Studies

Published

Starting in 2026, the Center for Critical Cultural Heritage Studies (CCHS) will award an annual essay prize for the best essay on the topic of critical cultural heritage studies.

The award is given to a bachelor’s, master’s, or master’s thesis. The thesis must have received the highest grade at one of the following faculties at the University of Gothenburg: the Faculty of Science and Technology, the School of Business, Economics and Law, the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts, the Faculty of Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Education.

Advisors, examiners, and deans may nominate theses. Self-nominations are also accepted. The nomination must include the thesis and a brief letter of recommendation describing the thesis’s strengths. In the case of a self-nomination, the author must also attach their CV, and the letter of recommendation must then be written by the thesis advisor.

The current nomination period runs through August 31, 2026. For more information and the nomination form, visit the website: Thesis Award in Critical Cultural Heritage Studies at the University of Gothenburg | Center for Critical Cultural Heritage Studies, University of Gothenburg
