The Prins Bertil Scholarship for Sharing Knowledge and Experience about International Markets

Students at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg can apply for the Prins Bertil Scholarship to fund internships and Bachelor or Master theses which relate to international markets. Each scholarship amounts to SEK 25,000.

Who is eligble? 
Eligible to apply are all programme students, including Master students, as well as those who study single subject courses that will lead to a degree at the School of Business, Economics and Law. Students must be registered and active at the School during the period for which the scholarship is granted and single subject students must have attained at least 60 credits at the School. The scholarship is only granted for internships or thesis work that will take place in the fall 2026 or spring 2027, not for any previous activities. 

Assessment of applications
The assessment of applications and prioritization are carried out by representatives of the Prins Bertil Foundation based on: 1) clear relevance to knowledge and experience exchange regarding international markets, 2) clear benefit to West Swedish industry and international trade, and 3) achieved academic results. The final decision on granting the scholarship is made by the Dean of the School of Business, Economics and Law. Decisions are communicated in June 2026. 

Within one year after the granting of the scholarship, a brief report must be submitted, describing how the funds were used and in what way they have promoted the sharing of knowledge and experience about international markets. 

How to apply
To apply, you must use the GU web application system. The same account can be used to apply for other GU scholarships. Along with the application, you must submit a budget, a study certificate and a CV. Letters of recommendation can be attached but are not required. The documents should be combined into a maximum of 3 attachments in the application system. Please note that your application will be dismissed if the required attachments are missing. 

Information and link to the web application system can be found on the Student portal. Choose “School of Business, Economics and Law” from the list of faculties. 

Deadline
The final date to apply for the 2026-2027 scholarship is April 24, 2026. The School and Foundation will process personal data in accordance with GDPR (EU) 2016/679.
