Economics is a social science discipline that studies how a society uses its resources. Those who study economics learn about the economy as a whole, as well as how various actors make decisions to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Statistics is the science of collecting, analyzing, and interpreting empirical data, which has a wide range of applications. In social science disciplines such as economics and various behavioral sciences, statistical methods are invaluable for collecting and analyzing quantitative data. All decisions and planning in economic activities rely on statistically accurate data.
