Study abroad - Exchanges

The University of Gothenburg has a number of agreements with universities around the world. These partnerships allow students to participate in exchange programs, providing the opportunity to study abroad as part of their Swedish education. It is possible to apply for exchange studies during the third semester in our international program in  global health.

Recorded Presentation Before you apply  (in Swedish - 2022)

Studera utomlands 2025-2026 – Before you apply PPT presentation (in English)   - 2024

There are two levels of agreements at the University of Gothenburg.

  • University-wide agreements: These are established at a higher, central level and include multiple subject areas and faculties. There is a wide range of agreements available at this level, and it is up to the student to ensure that the courses of interest are offered at the partner institution before applying.
  • Application Workshop January 21 , 2025
  • Drop in on zoom for questions about exchange studies on GU-wide spots

  • Sahlgrenska Academy Program-specific agreements: These are only open to students enrolled in specific programs. Currently, there are program-specific Erasmus+ ICM agreements with Angola, Sril Lanka and India for MPH students. If you are offered a seat at one of these universities, you will also receive a scholarship. The scholarship is divided into two parts: a travel grant of 820 Euros and a monthly stipend of 700 Euros. Through our Erasmus+ ICM agreements, you can either do a 10-week internship  and/or collect data for your thesis.  During the internship or data collection period you remain registered at UGOT and your activity aboard will be included/integrated in the course. You apply separately for the grant once you are nominated through UGOT Erasmus + Traineeships
