Programme structure

This Master’s degree will take 2 years of full-time study and teaching is campus-based. There are 4 semesters, each worth 30 credits.

First Semester
PS2101 Psychology as a Science, 9 credits
PS2103 Personality Psychology, 9 credits
PS2301 Methods I, 5 credits
PS2302 Methods II, 5 credits
PS2102 Practicum , 2 credits (part of 6 credits)

Taking a Leave of Absence

Do you want to take a study leave or need to temporarily interrupt your studies? Always contact the Student Counsellor or the Programme Director before you make your decision. If you leave the programme without notifying us, we cannot guarantee that there will be available place for you in the in the programme if you later decide to return. Only students that have registered their intent to leave and return will be considered for resumption of studies.

Find a place to stay 

As a degree-seeking student (a student who are not here via an exchange agreement) you are asked to arrange your own accommodation. For your help, we can recommend you to read the university's Housing guide for international students.

Welcome services

The university Welcome Services offers information and assistance to international students in matters concerning the arrival to and the stay at the University of Gothenburg.

At the beginning of each semester they arrange a Welcome Programme for all international students - a perfect opportunity to get practical information as well as meet other international students.
