Address
Kristinelundsgatan 6–8
Vasagatan 50 (also entrance via Storgatan 43).
The two buildings are located a short walking distance from each other. (The HDK-Valand department also operates in Steneby in Dals Långed.)
Opening hours and access
The main entrance on Kristinelundsgatan is open during the same hours as the Art Library: Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. However, some premises require an access card.
For the premises on Vasagatan, only students with access cards can enter the main entrances.
For visitors with a GU card from the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts, all premises are open Monday–Sunday 7 a.m.–midnight.
Accessibility
On Kristinelundsgatan, there is a wheelchair ramp leading up to the main entrance from street level and a lift directly in front of the door. Public toilets are available in the main entrance.
For Vasagatan, the entrance is via Chalmersgatan, where the entrances to Vasagatan and Storgatan are wheelchair accessible.
Who can you find here?
These premises are home to all course and programme students studying at the HDK-Valand - Academy of Art and Design, with the exception of the five programmes run at the Steneby campus.
Konstnärliga - a new building for The Artistic Faculty
Between 2028 and 2029, HDK-Valand, together with the Academy of Music and Drama, will move to a new building at Götaplatsen, called Konstnärliga.

Lecture halls
Library
The Art Library is located next to the main entrance on Kristinelundsgatan. The library is open to the public Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during term time.

Study areas
On Kristinelundsgatan, the doors are open to anyone who wants to visit the Art Library or sit in the former café to study. The number of public study areas is limited.
On Vasagatan, only students with access cards can enter the main entrances. HDK-Valand students have access to education-specific study areas. Here, teaching is mainly conducted for students in fine arts, photography, film, literary creation and teacher training in art and crafts.
Food, refreshments and fika on campus
There are currently no cafés on Vasagatan or Kristinelundsgatan, but there are a number of kiosks, cafés and restaurants in the surrounding area. HDK-Valand students have access to student kitchens in both buildings.
Rest rooms
If you need a rest room, they are available in room 513 on Kristinelundsgatan and in room 2051 on Storgatan. The rooms are open and no key is required.

Campus Services (caretaker's office)
The caretaker's office at HDK-Valand in Gothenburg is part of Campus Services Lorensberg.
Campus Services helps with:
- Locks, alarms and card access
- Fire safety
- Facility management and waste sorting
- Furniture and furnishing of premises
- Fault reports relating to the property and fixed technology
- Loaning of simple AV equipment (only at Kristinelundsgatan).
