There is an enormous concern among public institutions, the business community, and the wider public that the transition to a low-carbon economy and a more inclusive society is not happening fast enough. However, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) offer a clear global roadmap, encouraging all stakeholders to actively engage in this transformation. Key players in government and industry are beginning to respond to this call. A notable example is the European Green Deal, an ambitious package of policy initiatives adopted by the Member States of the European Union, which aims to set the EU on a path toward climate neutrality by 2050.

As you begin your time on campus, you are offered this unique opportunity to join important conversations about accelerating sustainability efforts. The Sustainability Day features discussion with prominent speakers on the transition to a low-carbon economy and explores the critical role that business and policy play in driving this much-needed shift.
