Higher education qualifications

A higher education qualification is evidence that you have acquired knowledge up to a certain level.

Degree certificate

When you have completed your studies and want to receive your degree certificate, you must apply for the degree yourself. Your degree certificate will show the degree awarded, courses included, grades for the courses and the date on which the courses were completed. The degree certificate is in both Swedish and English.

The menu contains links to more information about how to apply for your degree and the rules applicable for different degrees.

Digital degree certificates

From 5th of November 2018 onwards the university issues digital degree certificates.

Diploma Supplement

Together with the degree certificate, a Diploma Supplement is attached. The appendix is issued in English and describes the education and its place in the education system.

Course certificates and translations

If you need a course certificate, please contact your institution.
If you want to translate an old degree certificate, you need to contact a translation agency.

Duplicate certificate

Degree certificates issued before 25th of October 2018 are paper originals. If you have lost a paperoriginal, you can order a duplicate certificate.

An alternative to a duplicate certificate may be a transcript of records, which includes information about a qualification awarded. If you have access to Ladok services, you can create a verifiable certificate yourself; otherwise you can order a paper certificate via the Servicecenter.

Transcript of records

Degree certificates issued after 2018-11-04 are PDF/A-documents. Contact us if you have lost such a degree certificate and we will assist you.

Processing time

The processing time is up to eight weeks for general and teaching qualifications. The processing time is up to three weeks for other professional qualifications and postgraduate degrees. This processing time may vary over the year depending on workload and may, for example, be longer when the number of applications is high.
