Innovation Challenges for Students: Discovery Week in Romania

For students

Do you want to test your innovative mindset together with students from Europe? The EUTOPIA innovation challenge for students will be arranged at Babes-Bolyai University in April. The event engages students in collaborative partnerships and challenge-based initiatives with stakeholders from the public and private sectors. You will gain a ton of experience and get a chance explore the city Cluj. Eight students for the University of Gothenburg will have the chance to go!

You will work on an entrepreneurial project together with students from a mix of the 10 EUTOPIA Alliance universities, aiming to solve a real problem from one of these fields:

  1. Sustainability and Circular Economy Models (for example, strategies that reduce waste, enhance resource efficiency, and foster sustainable practices in a specific industry)
  2. Cybersecurity Strategy for Small and Medium Enterprises (for example, addressing key aspects such as threat detection, data protection, and employee training, ensuring a robust defence against evolving cyber threats)
  3.  AI and Health Economics (for example, innovative AI tools, applications, or systems for healthcare practices that also prioritize economic efficiency, affordability, and resource optimization).

Who will you do this with? 

8 students from each EUTOPIA University will be able to participate. Each team will be composed of 5 students from a mix of universities and study backgrounds.

Am I eligible to apply? 

You need to be regularly enrolled at the Bachelor/cycle 1- or Master/cycle 2-level at the University of Gothenburg, at the time of application and at the time of the event. We welcome students from all study fields, prior knowledge of the three case fields is not necessary. The Application has to be completed and submitted by the deadline February 27, 2024 at 23:59 CET.

Eight students from GU will be chosen! 

Is there any funding? 

Participants will receive funding to support travel, accommodation, and meals. There is additional funding available if you travel by approved green means. There is also additional financial support if you are a student with a permanent physical or mental impairment or if you are a student with a dependent child.
