The language in an academic text needs to be clear and precise so that the reader can follow an author’s reasoning. In this workshop we work on crafting language effectively without making the text more difficult to read.
The workshop’s structure includes:
1. Outlining the main elements of writing with clear language. This review is interspersed with short exercises.
2. Opportunities to ask questions about the language in your own text that might be phrased in simpler and clearer ways.
