Erasmus Traineeship

The Erasmus programme gives you, as a student at the University of Gothenburg, the opportunity to apply for a grant doing a traineeship in Europe (outside of Sweden). You can do a traineeship in companies, organizations and research and training centres.

You can do Erasmus Traineeship with a duration of anywhere between five and 360 days.

  • The traditional Erasmus Traineeship is 60-360 days, with a single internship provider.
  • Short-term, blended mobility involves internships for five to 30 days, with a virtual component included.

You do not need to apply for a traineeship within your subject area, but the traineeship should be relevant to your education. Your department certifies the relevance of the traineeship.  Your student financial aid is not affected by the scholarship.

Important dates

Applications are managed continuously, which means you can apply for the grant all year through. No administration of grants takes place during the period 1 July to 31 August, so if you plan to carry out a traineeship during the summer you need to plan ahead.
Generally, the application must be submitted at least 30 days before the start date of your planned traineeship period.

It is not possible to apply retrospectively, practice, i.e when the  traineeship has already begun, so apply on time!
