This year’s finalists are Christoffer Breman, percussion; Marcus Bäckerud, violin; and Lorenz Karls, violin. The three finalists compete for soloist contracts, concert tours across Sweden, and the first prize of SEK 150,000.

The competition is held in collaboration with, among others, the Royal Swedish Academy of Music and Sveriges Radio P2.

The finalists perform together with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra in a concert that moves between concentration and power. Shostakovich’s First Violin Concerto and Bach’s serene violin largo meet Broström’s pulsating Arena, Massenet’s lyrical Meditation, and Paganini’s virtuosic energy, before Tarrodi’s Camelopardalis brings the concert to a close with a contemporary soundscape.

More information about the concert is available on the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra’s website.
