Who will participate?

Up to two students per partner university in the EUTOPIA alliance will be able to participate.

Can I apply?

You can apply if you are a registered and active student at the University of Gothenburg, both at the time of application and when the event takes place. You must be studying at the undergraduate level. We welcome applicants from all subject areas, and no prior knowledge in the subject of climate change is required.

Application

You apply by filling out our application form. Clearly motivate your participation. Write the motivation in English.

By submitting an application, you commit to writing a short 1-3 pages pre-session paper by March 30, 2024. Further instructions will be sent to the selected candidates.

Selection Criteria

Selection will be based on the answers in the application form. We are looking for strong commitment to the event; well-motivated, interesting answers to the open questions and reflections on how this topic fits into your academic, personal, and/or career journey as well as the ability to express yourself in English.

We are looking for candidates who are interested in EUTOPIA but may not have participated in a EUTOPIA activity before. If needed, we may use a lottery for the final selection.

The deadline for applications is March 13, 2024, at 23:59. Applications received after the deadline will not be processed. The same applies if the motivation section is missing or very incomplete; you are not an active registered student; or if it is established at any stage of the application process that the information you have provided has been knowingly falsified or plagiarized.

Decisions cannot be appealed. We expect to notify the selected candidates by March 15, 2024.

Is there any funding?

To participate in the events on April 23-24, the University of Gothenburg will provide a fixed amount of €309 for travel expenses and a per diem of €79 per day for up to four days.

Additional funding is available if you travel sustainably. There is also additional financial support if you are a student with a permanent physical or mental impairment or if you are a student with a dependent child.
