The RE-Café project was initiated a year ago by Helena Hansson and students, with the aim of giving new life to the empty space that once housed the faculty café. In open workshops led by Helena, Otto Von Busch and Karl Hallberg, students, staff and alumni from HDK-Valand worked together to activate the room. We built benches, hung up lights, carved hooks and organized social events. The project made the café flourish!
We now invit you to a workshop on how to continue the work with the café. All students and staff are welcome! No previous craft experience is required. Come as you are!
PROGRAM
Friday, January 9 – Workshop in honour of Helena
Time: 12 –16 (Drop-in)
We spend time together, sew a backdrop/patchwork quilt, twist rope and cook together. Klara Björk, Head of HDK-Valand, and researcher Elena Raviola will talk about Helena’s pedagogical work and research.
Saturday, January 10 – Workshop: Building for Care
Time: 9 –16
Together, we will build new additions to the café to foster care! We will provide lunch and fika.
