HDK-Valand’s buildings to be scanned for future use

Published

Starting on Thursday 26 March, HDK-Valand’s buildings in Gothenburg will be scanned both externally and internally. As a first step, the exterior scanning of the buildings will take place on 26–27 March, followed by interior measurings beginning on Monday 30 March.

The work is being carried out by the company Swescan on behalf of the property owner Higab. The purpose of the scanning is to create new drawings and models of the buildings, which will serve as a basis for preliminary studies on how the premises may be used once HDK-Valand relocates to Konstnärliga.

Drone scanning

The exterior scanning of the buildings at Vasagatan/Storgatan and Kristinelundsgatan will be carried out using drones on 26–27 March. This work is not expected to affect activities in the buildings.

Work continues next week

On Monday 30 March, the scanning of the interior of the Vasagatan/Storgatan block will begin. Staff and students will receive further information about how the work will be carried out and any potential impact on activities as soon as information becomes available.
