Account registration for students working for the University

In order for us to be able to pay out your salary, you need to register your account in Swedbank's account register. You can do this with BankID. If you have an account in a foreign bank or do not have BankID, you need to visit one of Swedbank's offices

About Swedbank's account register

The University of Gothenburg pays salaries through Swedbank's salary and payment system (SUS). In order for us to pay out your salary, you need to register your bank account with Swedbank's account register. If you are a customer of Swedbank, you still need to register your account.

The account you register applies to all payers using Swedbank's payment system. If you have already registered an account, you can easily see what account is registered and change account.

The process for registering and change your account varies depending on whether you have a BankID and if you want to register a Swedish or foreign bank account.

Swedbank's information about their account register

Register a Swedish account with BankID

The easiest way to register a Swedish account is through BankID directly to Swedbank. It will then be active for deposits within two business days.

If you want to change your account, you can also do so with your BankID. Once you have logged in, your existing account connection will be displayed. To change account, you simply add a new account. The old account number is automatically replaced by the new one.

Register a Swedish account without BankID

If you don't have a BankID, you can register your Swedish bank account by visiting one of Swedbank's branch offices. You need to present a valid proof of identity, and should also provide a so-called SUS agreement number, for the account to be linked to the University's salary payment. The University's SUS agreement number is 042258.

Valid identification for those with coordination numbers

When using a coordination number, you need to present the following documents when identificating yourself:

  • A valid foreign national passport showing citizenship. For countries within the Schengen cooperation, a national ID card containing information about citizenship is also valid.
  • Register extract from the Swedish Tax Agency, which shows your coordination number.

Register your account in a foreign bank

If you want to register your account in a foreign bank, you can do so at one of Swedbank's branch offices.

Important to know:

  • You must visit the office in person and present a valid identification; a proxy is not accepted due to the bank's identity verification.
  • Before your visit, you need to fill out and bring with you the University's form for Salary Account, Swedbanks blankett för kontoanmälan till utländsk bank. The form is only available to logged-in staff on our Staff Portal, but your contact person at the University can provide it to you.
  • During the visit, you should also provide a so-called SUS agreement number, for the account to be linked to the University's salary payment. The University's SUS agreement number is 042258.
  • According to the law, Swedbank must understand how you will use the account you have with the bank. It is therefore a good idea to bring, for example, your employment contract, payslip or bank statement, or financial overview from the previous bank.
  • Swedbank may need to ask you for further documentation in order to complete the application. When the bank have all necessary documentation, they will contact you to inform you about the next step.
