Welcome home! There are a few practical things left to sort out before your exchange is fully wrapped up.
Apply for credit transfer
For your credits from abroad to be converted into Swedish higher education credits and count towards your degree at the University of Gothenburg, you need to apply for credit transfer yourself. This is how your exchange gets registered in Ladok.

Send your study results to CSN
Did you receive student finance from the Swedish National Board of Student Aid (CSN) during your exchange? If so, you need to show that you've met CSN's requirements for study results in order to keep receiving funding.
Send a copy of your Transcript of Records from your host university. It must show:
- your name
- the course names
- number of credits
- grades
- dates for the courses you took.
Have you not received your original grades yet? That is fine — a digital copy or a screenshot from the Student Portal works, as long as it shows the information above.
Deadline to keep in mind: if you're applying for student finance to continue studying in Sweden, you need to submit your study results within four weeks of the term starting.
Help an incoming exchange student – become a buddy!
Through the student union, you can help international students get off to a good start in Gothenburg. Become a buddy to a new student, or help out with other activities.

Fill in an exchange report
We would love to hear how it went! Your experiences help us at the University of Gothenburg develop our exchange programmes – and they help future students who are considering going on exchange.
You may therefore be asked to fill in an exchange report or answer an exchange survey about your experiences. This will be emailed to you when your exchange term ends, sent by your international coordinator.
If you received an Erasmus grant, you will also need to fill in a Student Report. This is sent to you directly from the Erasmus programme's system.
Tell students at your faculty or department about your exchange
Want to share your experiences in person? Information sessions about exchange studies are held every year, for example ahead of application deadlines or before departure. We are always happy to invite students who have just come home to give a short talk or be on hand to answer questions.
Invitations are often sent by email, but you can also contact your international coordinator at your faculty or department directly to find out when the next session is planned.
