Nominate candidates for Eva Wiberg Scholarship

Published

It’s time to nominate candidates for the newly established “Eva Wiberg Scholarship”, which is associated with the Student Fund at the University of Gothenburg. The funds from this scholarship are intended to enhance the social life of university students. Anyone connected to the university can make nominations.

Each year, one or more scholarships, totaling 50,000 Swedish kronor, will be awarded to organizations or individuals who have taken commendable initiatives and organized social activities for students at the University of Gothenburg. Initiatives that promote inclusivity, unity among students, and collaboration with the surrounding community and business sector are given priority.

The purpose of the Student Fund is to provide better conditions for successful studies, contribute to student well-being, strengthen cohesion among different student groups, foster a sense of community across educational areas, and enhance the attractiveness of both the university and the city of Gothenburg.

The Student Fund was established in spring 2023 by the former vice-chancellor, Eva Wiberg. Anyone associated with the University of Gothenburg has the right to nominate recipients. Nominations should be submitted to rektor@gu.se by March 31st. Please write as the subject: ”Eva Wibergs stipendium för studentliv och samverkan”.

When submitting a nomination, the following information should be included:

• Names of the nominees, along with their contact information
• A justification for the nomination
• Links to information about the nominee’s activities, relevant news articles, or other supporting materials
• Any additional explanation of how the scholarship would contribute

The Student Fund’s selection committee will review all applications during their meeting in April. The committee will propose recipients for the Eva Wiberg Scholarship, and the recipients will be notified after the vice-chancellor’s decision. The scholarship will be awarded during Diplomeringsceremonin, May 22nd.
