New student autumn semester 2025

Welcome to Software Engineering and Management, Bachelor’s programme at the University of Gothenburg and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)!
 

The introduction and registration for your programme will be hosted by your programme manager and takes place the week prior to the start of the semester.

Programme introduction August 25, 2025
The registration day for your programme will be hosted by your programme manager and takes place on Monday August 25. Introduction and registration are mandatory, and you must attend the registration to formally be enrolled in your programme.

Please note that you must bring a valid ID to be able to be enrolled.

 

Can't make it to the programme introduction?
If you can’t attend the programme introduction and registration on August 25, but still would like to keep your place in the programme you must email studentoffice@cse.gu.se no later than Thursday August 21, 2025. You will then receive a confirmation email and more information on how to proceed. If you don’t attend the programme introduction and haven’t emailed us, you risk losing your place in the programme.

Schedule August 25 - August 29, 2025
Starting August 25, straight after the programme introduction, 2nd and 3rd year students from the programme are hosting social activities throughout the week. These activities are imbedded in the programme introduction-schedule, and it will be published closer to the start of the semester.

Your first semester at the University of Gothenburg
Each term/semester consist of two study periods:

  • Autumn: study period 1 and 2
  • Spring: study period 3 and 4

During study period 1 (September 1 - November 2, 2025), you will take two compulsory courses, 7,5 hp each. The course syllabuses and schedule can be found below.
