Department of Mathematical Sciences
At the Department of Mathematical Sciences, we offer programmes and courses in mathematics and mathematical statistics at undergraduate and advanced level. We also have a comprehensive doctoral education.
The department is joint between the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology. This means that our teachers, researchers and doctoral students teach and conduct research at both universities. As a student, you have a wider range of courses to choose from and you can use facilities, such as libraries and student premises, at both universities.

The Student Group for Mathematics
SG Matte is a part of the Science Section of the student union Göta studentkår and represents the students that study courses and programmes at the Department of Mathematical Sciences. They work to spread good vibes at the department and to make all students feel comfortable. There you will find mathematics students in different classes who you can ask for help, about course literature or similar issues.
Email: sgmatte@gota.gu.se
There is also a Facebook group for the mathematics students, called “Väsentligen lika med Matematikstudenter”
