You use your student account to log in to the Student Portal and access the learning platform Canvas, Ladok, Wifi, and much more. In order to use your student account, you must first activate it.
Please note that you must be admitted to a course or programme at the University of Gothenburg in order to be able to activate your student account. Activation can be done as of 10 August for the autumn semester and 2 January for the spring semester.
The easiest way to access your student account is by visiting Servicecenter in Gothenburg. If you bring a valid ID such as a passport or a driving licence, Servicecenter can activate your account and give you the login information.

If you have a permanent Swedish personal identity number and login information to universityadmissions.se, eduID or Freja eID Plus, you can activate your student account yourself. When you activate your student account your username will be displayed directly on the screen, and you can choose your own password.

If you are unable to visit Servicecenter, you can in some cases get the login information sent to you. If you do not have a permanent Swedish personal identity number, Servicecenter will send your username in an email and your password via SMS. Order password via SMS
If you have a permanent Swedish personal identity number and an address registered in the Swedish Population Register, Servicecenter will send your username in an email and your password via post. Order password via post
If you do not have a permanent Swedish personal identity number, you will not be able to activate your student account yourself. Please visit a Servicecenter or order your login information via the form.

If you have a registration deadline and are worried you will not get your login information in time, you can contact the study administration at your department and ask them to help you with the registration.

Forgot username: If you have a Swedish personal identity number and know your password, you can search for your username. Your username always starts with "gus".

If you know your login information but still cannot log in, please contact Servicecenter.
The student account is deleted 12 months after the last course registration ended. Before the student account is deleted, information is sent to your student email address.
Your account will not be deleted if you have approved leave from studies registered in Ladok.
To log on to the learning platform Canvas, use your student account username and password. You have to be registered to have full access to your course in Canvas.
To log in to the wifi eduroam, add @gu.se to your username (gus••••••@gu.se) and your regular password.
If you have changed your name officially at Skatteverket (Swedish Tax Agency), the name should automatically be changed in Ladok within 8 days. If you have a new Swedish personal identity number, or if your name change has not gone through, the information must be changed manually. Please bring a valid ID or certificate from Skatteverket, showing your new name or personal identity number, to one of our Servicecenters. Servicecenter will pass the information to Ladok and they will update it in the system.
