No later than two weeks before the start of the course, you must have access to your schedule for the course. You can search for your schedule in the university booking system, TimeEdit.
Most departments at the University uses the TimeEdit scheduling system. You can search for your schedule in TimeEdit, but many courses also link directly to the schedule from the course room in Canvas.
The schedules in TimeEdit are accessible to everyone; you don't need to have a student account or be registered for a course to access your schedule.
Schedules outside of TimeEdit
A few courses do not have a schedule in TimeEdit. This may occur when the teaching takes place in locations that are not integrated into the University of Gothenburg's or Chalmers' booking system. In such cases, the course administrators should inform you about where to find the course schedule. If you cannot locate your schedule, please contact your department for assistance.
How to search for a schedule in TimeEdit
Almost all teaching takes place in the University of Gothenburg's premises. Teaching occurs at various campuses and buildings in Gothenburg, as well as in Tjärnö, Mariestad, and Steneby.
We have a close collaboration with Chalmers University of Technology. For some courses, teaching takes place on Chalmers' campus, and there are also courses that are taken alongside Chalmers students. If you are studying at one of the following institutions, there's a high chance that you will have teaching, either entirely or partially, in Chalmers' premises:
Computer Science and Engineering
Physics
Mathematical Sciences
In TimeEdit's Schedule search you can add the courses you want in your schedule. Click on Show schedule.
The default setting in the schedule is from now (i.e. the date you open the course schedule) until the end of the current term. It is possible to change the time settings, either to fixed dates or with rolling start and end dates.
If no date is displayed, for example if you have accessed the schedule via a direct link, you may need to change the time in the menu. If the menu does not display the schedule page, select Show Menu.
You can save your created schedule either as a bookmark or by copying the link. All of your settings will be saved in the link. You can of course even print it out – although you will then miss any changes that may be made.
When you have created a schedule by selecting a course and time interval, you can subscribe to it in a calendar app on your computer or mobile device.
Select Subscribe beneath the main menu. Copy and paste the link into your calendar app’s subscription function.
There are a number of different settings under Customise. For example. you can colour code based on lesson type or module, filter your view and hide weekends and holidays.
A cancellation is displayed in the schedule as a grey, crossed-out item for 72 hours after cancellation, after which it disappears.
Changes to the schedule are marked with a red dot next to the item for three days after the change has been made.
If you are enrolled in a study programme, you can search for the schedule for all courses during the term and see the entire schedule at once.
