The University of Gothenburg is working to slow the spread of COVID-19 infections. This means that the University, in order to live up to current recommendations, continues to conduct a large part of the teaching digitally and that all staff who can continue with temporary remote work.
International students are prioritized for on-campus activities. Teaching for international students are, as a general rule, given on campus featuring some digital components.
The vice-chancellor has decided on a direction for the spring semester 2021.
The situation can change quickly and it is therefore important that you keep abreast of new developments.
All courses have a syllabus. Find the syllabus for your course in the student portal.
Students should have access to their schedule no later than two weeks before the start of the course.
You can search for your schedule in the university booking system, TimeEdit.
When you are registered to a course you will get access to it in the learning platform Canvas. In Canvas you will find contact information for the responsible teacher.
If you have any questions concerning the practicalities of your studies, please contact the student office.
If you feel the need to talk about your study situation, to discuss how to plan your studies or if you need special pedagogical support, please contact the study counsellor. You should also contact the study counsellor if you want to apply for transfering previous study results or an approved leave from studies.

The department is located in the building Patricia on floor 3 and 4. Please note that the premises are only accesible 7-22, Monday to Saturday (not Sundays, holidays or during the month of July). Security guards make rounds to ensure that no one is left after hours. It is not permitted to smoke in the building or just outside the entrances.
To access the facilities you need an updated GU-card. You also need the card to use the printers, found on the 3rd and 4th floors in Patricia.
A kitchen area is located on the 4th floor in Patricia for students. There you have access to a kitchen, chairs and tables. Students are responsible for keeping the area nice and clean, use recycling containers in the kitchen. On the 3rd floor at the stairwell, there are containers for electronic waste, cardboard, metal, etc.
The rooms in Patricia are closed until further notice.
Under normal circumstances our students are welcome to use available lecture halls. Unfortunately, this is not possible under current circumstances.
The room Torg 3 is now a quiet study area, with 8 places for individual study. The places are booked through TimeEdit. NB! You need an updated GU-card to access the room.
There is a group working space on Torg Orange, two tables with max four individuals per group. Available for students to book in Timeedit.

It is important that you as a student are aware of fire protection routines in our facilities.
Look around and find out where evacuation plans are located. The evacuation plans show evacuation routes, fire extinguishers, fire alarms and assembly points.
In case of fire it is not allowed to use the elevators due to safety reasons.
There is help if you are experiencing health issues related to your studies.
