Studies Starting in Spring 2025

Here we have compiled information and important dates for you who have applied for a course or programme at the Department of Sociology and Work Science starting in spring 2025.

Admission letter 1  

A first admission notice for applicants to autumn courses and programmes will be available on antagning.se on 10 December. Go to ‘My pages’ to read and respond to the notification by 16 December.

Admission letter 2  

A second admission notice will be published on 19 December.

Please note!  Reserve admission will start on 15 January, before which we will not be able to announce a place on the programme.  

Start of the Term 

The official start date of the semester is 20 January. For more exact dates, search for the relevant course via the learning platform Canvas.

Information about Course/Programme Start   

During week 51 at the latest, you will receive a welcome letter from the department via e-mail. The letter contains a link to Canvas (University of Gothenburg's learning platform) where you will find the schedule and literature lists, as well as information about registration.  

Tip!  Check your spam folder if you have not received the welcome letter.  
  
Registration takes place 13-14 January for courses starting 20 January (period 1) and 20-21 March for courses starting 27 March (period 2). 
  
Please note that registration is compulsory - if you do not register, you risk losing your place!  
  
You can already find out about courses/programmes via Canvas public pages. Search for your course using your course code. Click on your course. In the top left corner you will find 'course overview', click there to read the syllabus, literature list and schedule.   

Late Enrolment  

Do you want to study with us but missed to apply? Some of the courses starting this autumn will open for late registration on 13 December 2024. Read more about late registration via antagning.se

Information about Studying at the University  

Via the Student Portal you can access services and information related to your everyday life as a student at the University of Gothenburg. There is also general information for you as a new student.   
  
Students with disabilities can receive special pedagogical support.
